What Is Basic Watsu®
Over two-days, Basic Watsu® will give you a gentle and inspiring introduction to the world of Aquatic Bodywork™.
Participants learn to offer and receive deeply relaxing sequences in warm water, that blend floating, stretching, stillness, and mindful touch. You'll learn to float another person with confidence and ease, offering movements that promote deep relaxation and a sense of connection.

Course Format
Duration: Two days (16 hrs)
Delivery: In-person, hands-on training in a warm water indoors pool (34–35°C).
Structure: Includes pre-course reading, in-water practice, group sharing, and optional reflection.
Study Load: Experiential focus, supported by optional reading and reflection.

What You Will Learn

The foundational principles of Watsu®: grounding, breath, and mindful touch.

How to perform a full Basic Watsu® sequence (approx. 45 mins)

Floating techniques and body mechanics to support others with ease.

Basic movement patterns, stretches, and transitions in water.

Skills in attunement, listening, and non-verbal communication.

Emotional safety, boundaries, and adaptations for different needs.
-
An introduction to the history, applications, and spirit of Watsu®.
Course Outcomes
-
Gain confidence in supporting another person in warm water safely and respectfully.

Understand the principles of presence, grounding, and non-verbal communication in water.

Be able to perform a full Basic Watsu® sequence (approx. 45 minutes) with flow, ease, and adaptability.

Cultivate sensitivity to breath, body tone, and emotional states in aquatic environments.

Develop essential water safety skills, including floating support and transitions
-
Receive an internationally recognised professional certificate upon completion.

Acquire 16 experience hours towards practitioner training on the official WABR (registry),.accredited by WABA (World Wide Aquatic Bodywork Association) and the AIAB (The Australian Institute of Aquatic Bodywork).

This course serves as a prerequisite for further training in Watsu® and other Aquatic Bodywork™ modalities. Hours of this course will count towards practitioner training.

1. Course deposit of AUD$ + completed enrolment form are required in order to secure your spot.
2. The remaining course fee of AUD$ is payable once a confirmation is issued by the AIAB (typically no later than 30 days prior to course commencement date).

Cancellation Policy
If the AIAB cancels the course: The student will be entitled to a full refund including the deposit. This includes any exchange rate that the student might have endured. This excludes any other expenses the student endured such as for travel bookings and/or cancellation of accommodation.
If a student cancels their enrolment: Any refund or/and cancellation requests must be made in writing to: info@aquanat.com.au
